Four Ways to Feed Your Baby More Nutrients in 2018

Eating healthy is a choice, and it also takes some effort. When it comes to feeding your baby, you should go that extra step to offer nutrient-rich foods that promote healthy growth and development. Baby care products, cookbooks, and magazines are great tools to learn more about healthy eating for infants and toddlers. If you are not sure how to get started, these four ways to incorporate better nutrition for your baby can help you start the new year right.

  1. Go for whole foods. The more processed a food is, the more likely that nutrients have been lost as additives and preservatives are included. Lean meats, poultry, fish, fresh fruits, and vegetables are better choices for growing minds and bodies.

  2. Find the right time. Babies can be finicky eaters, especially when they are trying something new for the first time. Take a bit of the battle out of it by introducing healthy foods at a mealtime earlier in the day or for snacks after a nap. If your baby is not cranky, he or she may be more receptive to trying new flavors and textures.

  3. Know your stuff. If you learn more about what nutrients are essential for infant growth, you can add those into your baby’s meals to boost their wellbeing. Vitamins A, C, and D are important as well as iron, calcium, and zinc. Certain foods pack more of a wholesome punch, so educate yourself.

  4. Do it yourself. The best way to know exactly what your baby is eating is to make your own baby food. It’s not as difficult as it sounds. There are several products you can try to cook, puree, and store baby food, but they are not all created equal. The best baby food processor that makes it easy for you is one from the Babycook® line because it can handle every step, from cooking to blending to storage and reheating.

With the right tools this year, you can be your own baby food chef! Learn more about Babycook® processors by visiting the BÉABA website. They have innovative products to kick your parenting up a notch as your baby grows.

4 Top Tips To Help Your Shy Child Through Kindergarten

If your child is a little on the shy side, here are a few tips for preparing him or her for kindergarten.

1.    It’s okay to be shy

Firstly, let your little one know that it is okay if he or she is a little more introverted and reserved than his or her peers. When you compare it to other kids, shy kids usually need some more time to adjust to their new environment. As a parent, it is your job to support your shy child until he or she is comfortable in an unfamiliar setting and you can help your little one interact with his or her peers.

2.    Visit the school

A shy child needs more support than an outgoing one during those first few days at kindergarten. A great way to prepare him or her is to ease your child into school. Try visiting the school together a few times before his or her big first day so your little one will feel more comfortable in the new surroundings. You can also learn about the Guardian Early Learning kindergarten programs and talk to the teacher about making the transition easier for your child. Also, try to get the class list as soon as you can so you can find some of his classmates who may live nearby and try arranging a playdate or two beforehand so your child at least knows a few other kids when he or she starts school.

3.    The first day

On the first day of school, plan to stay for a little while. Greet the teacher together and help your little one put his or her things away. You may also introduce your child to a few other kids. But if he or she seems uninterested, help your child begin an activity or project with them. When it’s time to go, remember to say goodbye and reassure him or her that you will be back later after classes are done. Don’t try to slip out unnoticed.

4.    During the school year

Throughout the year, continue to communicate with the teacher. She will let you know what is or isn’t working for your shy child, who his/her friends are, and will advise you on how to encourage your little one to come out of his or her shell.

You may be told not to push a very shy child at this age, but if you don’t give them a little nudge of encouragement, they are not going to have as much exposure to other activities and people as they could. This can end up being harmful in the long run, since pre-schoolers learn tons about the world from one another.

That being said, you also don’t want to overload your shy child with social obligations. Listen and watch for his or her cues: if they are cranky and uncomfortable, ease off and give them a little quiet space. Shy kids do need some extra downtime every day after school to spend time in their familiar surroundings and engage in low-key activities. If a full day seems like it will be too much, you may want to consider half-day kindergarten if you have the option.

10 Ways to Foster Your Child’s Creativity

The first five years of your child’s life is a time when his or her mind is an absolute sponge, absorbing any and every piece of stimuli available. By fostering creativity, you can allow your child a strong foundation for imagination and intellectual thinking, resulting in a confident and resourceful adult later in life with increased problem-solving skills and cognitive abilities.

One way to achieve this is to create a home strong in musicality. This does not mean you have to surround your child with nothing but Mozart all day, however. Music of all types and genres are beneficial when introducing to your child at a young age, enhancing cerebral neuron connectivity. Do you have a band that you absolutely adore? Pass on your affinity for the group by introducing it to your child at a young age and creating a positive association. A quick online search can turn up versions of songs that are often more age appropriate than the originals.

Listening to music can be done at any time throughout the day, whether in the morning as the family is waking up, in the car as you are driving to the grocery or to school, or as background entertainment during bath time. And, of course, do not forget to incorporate a fantastic dance party into your living room activities from time to time. Dancing to your favorite tunes can help your child improve control of muscle movement as well as encourage his or her confidence. For those too small to dance on their own, swoop down and pick them up in your arms while you twirl around the living room for a great workout for you as well as creating a terrific bonding experience between the two of you. Monitoring your children: Whatsapp monitoring app for kids safety and much more

03

We can’t deny the importance that social media holds in our lives. Where we use channels like Facebook and Instagram to showcase our lives to people, other channels such ‘Viber’, ‘Skype’ and ‘Line’ let us communicate with people living continents away. These apps have made communication so easy that not only can we get in touch with someone in seconds we can easily share the happenings in our lives by sending pictures and videos and can express ourselves more effectively. Although there are many communication apps available in market, none of them beat the success of ‘Whatsapp’

What is Whatsapp and why is it so popular?

Whatsapp is a messaging and call platform that along with providing easy communication allows you to share pictures, videos, music and various files with ease. The app is very user friendly and is easy and convenient to use. Unlike many similar apps, users do not have to go through a lot of hassle to message someone. The calling feature of Whatsapp is also very easy to use and allows a seamless conversation between the two parties. Over the years, the app has seen many positive changes that made it far more reliable and convenient to use. Some of the other interesting features of Whatsapp include group chats and voice notes. The groups are easy to make and provide an excellent platform for a group chat. The voice note option is also extremely handy in situations where one cannot type and or needs to describe something in detail. These voice notes have no limit and can be as lengthy as 10 minutes.

Because of its simple interface and convenience to use, Whatsapp is highly popular amongst people of all ages. Unlike some other apps like ‘Snapchat’ that are mostly popular amongst teenagers, Whatsapp has a large market that caters people of all age groups and professions. Many organizations use the ‘group chat’ option of the app to provide a platform for all their employees to stay in touch.

Privacy options of Whatsapp and what can go wrong?

In the past few years, Whatsapp has indeed stepped up its game in terms of privacy. You can hide your picture and status from people who are not in your contact list. You may also hide your ‘last seen’ from others and easily block people. The problem is, that for adults these privacy features are sufficient, for children they are not. Firstly, a stranger can send your children inappropriate pictures easily and there is no option that can stop them from downloading those files. Being young and naïve, they open those pictures without thinking. Predators and stalkers may also easily manipulate children by sending messages and voice notes.

The ease of use that Whatsapp provides has many advantages, but unfortunately this very advantage can also serve as a disadvantage. The easy communication can lead to sharing of personal data with untrustworthy people and can encourage indecent acts like sexting. Whatsapp because of its features can serve as a tool for manipulation

How can you make Whatsapp safe?

If you are looking for a Whatsapp monitoring app for kid’s safety and much more, then there is a lot to find on the market. These apps let you regulate your child’s phone, allowing you to go through their phone’s data and giving you an access to apps, galleries and contacts. Almost all the tracking apps allow you to monitor Whatsapp. You can check who your children talking to and what kind of messages, photos, videos and voice notes they sent and receive. Whatsapp is used by many cyberbullies to carry their heinous acts, you can instantly stop it from happening to your kid by keeping a check on their chats and blocking whoever is trying to harass your kid.

Whatsapp isn’t the only platform that is unsafe for the kids. With so many social media channels, children are most likely to be targeted by cybercrimes. As a responsible parent it is your duty to keep your child safe from them and a tracking app can really be helpful in that regard. Therefore, there are many companies that provide a Whatsapp monitoring app for kids and much more.
