Not a day goes by that a person doesn’t complain about how they are “getting old”. Becoming older is a privilege that many people never get to enjoy. A more positive person feels thankful for all the experience and wisdom that time has bestowed upon them. Also, age is just a number. Physical age and chronological age can be extremely different depending on the person’s lifestyle habits. Emotional well being also plays a big role in determining how fast your body will age. Too much negative emotion can cause an unbalanced amount of stress. Stress creates biochemical agents that accelerate the aging process.
No matter what age you are, it is important to focus on what is truly important. Relationships with other people will create for you more wealth and happiness than money ever could. That is why many people choose to retire to assisted living communities where they will be surrounded by friends. Habits to Slow Down Your Aging
Sadly, some people do not age as well as others. Eventually, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease can make it impossible for a person to take care of themselves. The best way to avoid these disorders is to stay active and keep up with healthy nutrition. Exercise doesn’t have to be intense to be effective. Consistency is a key component to safe and effective exercise. Walking for a short time every day is a great way to build up a baseline for exercise. A person’s journey towards better physical fitness should start with relatively easy exercise. Once this level of activity has been mastered, it is up to you or a professional fitness trainer to decide how you will progress your exercise.
Eat Your Vegetables and Stay Healthy
One great way to keep up with nutrition is making sure to eat enough vegetables. High powered blenders can do an even better job than juicers at delivering nutrition and fiber to your body. Everybody loves smoothies. Sadly, most everyone only includes fruit in their blended drinks. Frozen vegetables are a great substitute for ice cubes and you can still make a great tasting blend by using fruit or flavored protein powder. When someone is disabled by a disease brought on by age, it is important for them to still exercise and eat healthy. This is only possible with full-time staff available to supervise. Some of the most frequently asked questions concern the benefits associated with home care. Here are some important advantages that you should consider.
The Comfort of Home
One of the most important benefits of home care is that it allows individuals to stay in the comfort of their own home. No one wants to leave home and special memories behind. From a favorite chair to the garden in the backyard, everyone has certain features that he or she would be devastated to part with. If you are considering home care and are unsure of whether or not it might be right for your loved one, then consider the advantage of being able to live and continue life in the house that this individual knows and loves.
Providing Personalized Concern
Another advantage of home care is that it provides individualized care for people. Your loved one will enjoy the benefits of one-on-one care tailored specifically for him or her. Your loved one will get the undivided attention of a caregiver who is specially trained to help. This professional will do everything possible to ensure that the individual is comfortable, healthy, and happy.
A professional caregiver’s services are not only high quality and dependable, they are also highly affordable. In fact, in many cases, allowing your loved one to stay at home under the supervision of a trained professional can be less expensive than many of the other services people commonly use to maintain the upkeep of their homes. This trend is especially true if you are able to find a care company that offers low rates without monthly or annual contracts. By considering these benefits, you can find a service that meets the needs of your loved one. From comfort to personalized care and support, home care in Atlanta is the best way to help your loved one continue to celebrate life.
Unbelievable! I remember counting very few gray or silver hair last year. As the year progressed, I did not realize that the few strands or gray hair decided to recruit the nice, hazel brown ones and made them into their “gray minions!” I have so many gray hair now! And they are everywhere!
I always joke about it now with close peers about how reaching middle age brought about so many changes in me. And one of those very obvious changes is the graying of my hair. It decided to go mutiny or some sorts.
Why do we get gray hair anyway? Some won the genetics lottery that they are able to retain their natural hair color while others, like myself, have to see their crowning glory turn into a spectacle of whiteness.
To quash that big question, why do we develop gray hair growth anyway?
1. Genetics – other people are just lucky to get away with the counting of white hair due to their blessed genes!
2. Little or too much of melanin – Melanin is a chemical released by the pigment cells found on our hair root. It is responsible in making our hair dark or light or make our skin tan fast or not.
While people claim that stress and sometimes fright can cause one’s hair to turn gray. These theories have been discounted.
I may eventually have to accept the fact that I will never grow my natural hair color back in lieu of the gray ones. I don’t want to chemically alter my natural hair color by dyeing it. I can only hope that my rebellious gray hair stop recruiting the natural ones so I don’t get conscious. Like it or not, I will have to accept the fact that I will have more gray hair in the days and years to come.
It is still a far fetched idea for me to buy myself and my husband a commode for our twilight years. However, we still both have our elder parents to take care of. I know the time will come that we will have to prepare ourselves for the inevitable because my mother is already 65 and my mother-in-law is 74. Both are still capable of doing what every human is supposed to do to relieve themselves but my mother is slightly showing signs of incontinence. A great way to help her ease through the condition is to purchase a commode chair for toilet which she can use in the privacy of our bathroom.

Our parents have to go through plenty of adjustments to finally accept the fact that they are already seniors. Sooner or later, the things they thought they do not need will probably become handy if they want to go through their day-to-day activities.
As a concerned daughter, the best way I can assist my parent is to provide her the things that will give comfort through her golden years. I have attended to my grandparents’ need and care before so having an idea of what items my mother will need in the future is a relief. Examples of these valuable items are the commode, walker, canes, bed rails, bed trays, pans and many more. You can buy them here at www.parentgiving.com.
