If you’re an expat like me who is transplanted in the Middle East, then there are other holiday occasions that you just can’t celebrate the same way you do back home. It’s only lately when the Philippines caught up on the Halloween fever but other countries are already celebrating this spooky event with much gusto for the longest time!
So, living in other parts of the world where Halloween is not as famous as it should be, and when pumpkin is not a staple, you have to be innovative if you want to decorate your home without the usual pumpkin Jack O’ Lanterns.
Here are some ways to still have that Jack O’ Lantern decor in your home without using a pumpkin. You’ll be surprised to know that many fruits/vegetables and other materials can pass as your cute or spooky Jack O’ Lantern.
Vegetables like turnips, gourd and bell pepper
Old, big jars
Crafty stuff like styrofoam round mold with floral decors
Terra cotta pot
Pumpkin plastic pails
Plywood or old crates
