Feed Your Baby Well for a Healthy Life

From the age of three or four months, your baby is ready to go on to solid food. This sounds easier than it actually is. Babies have to get used to lumpier food rather than just milk including new tastes and textures. It’s a milestone in your little one’s life and one that will lead to good health as your baby gets older.

A single grain infant cereal like rice, a single fruit or vegetable puree can be prepared using breast milk or formula milk. This makes it easy for baby to digest. However don’t try lots of different meals at first, stick to the same food for a few days to make sure there aren’t any signs of allergies or intolerance. Here are some delicious baby food recipes, perfect for babies four to six months old.

Ingredients for Sweet Potato Apple Mash

Steamed or baked apples

Sweet Potatoes

Water

Finger food salad

What to do:

Steam or bake the apples and sweet potatoes together until they are tender.

Chop or dice finger food salad.

[A good tip to bake sweet potatoes to perfection is run them under water and then put holes in them with a fork. Run under the water again, wrap and put them in the oven for about 45 minutes at 200 degrees C, or gas mark 6. Place the tray on a low rack].

Once your baby has tasted this delicious first meal, he or she will want something a little different. Why not tempt your little one with:-
